As this holiday season approaches, we are again reminded of the many men and women who stand on the front lines and place themselves in harms way on both our domestic and foreign soils so that we may be safe and secure in our homes with our families and friends to enjoy a joyous Christmas and New Year.
Our thoughts may even wander back to earlier days when we, ourselves, also stood on those same front lines, shoulder to shoulder, but we have been blessed with the ability to retire and now allow and thank the younger generation to “fight the good fight” on our behalf.
It is with these thoughts in mind that I, on behalf of our Houston Police Retired Officers Association Board of Directors, take this opportunity to wish all of our HPROA members, their families and loved ones, as well as our active law enforcement officers and military personnel, a most blessed and Christ-filled Christmas and a prosperous, safe and healthy New Year in 2005.
May God continue to bless each of you and keep you safe. And may we remember that Christ is truly “the reason for the season”.
