Boy Howdy! Another good time was had by all.
We had 165 attending the Fredericksburg Reunion!!! Lamar had to keep calling the caterer and "upping" the count so we would have enough fish. I don't think anyone went away hungry. The fish, beans, hushpuppies, fries, slaw and ice tea was "wonderful". Lamar and Dee, you "did good”, again.
The weather was perfect, sunny and just cool enough. We had several new faces this year and that is always a good sign, word is getting around that the reunions are a lot of fun. We had the silent auction again this year and took in around $600. I want to thank everyone who donated items for the auction, without your donations the auction would not have been possible. As most of you know, this money is earmarked for our Family Assistance Committee. Thanks to Joann Eickenhorst and Carole DeFoor for working the Auction.
We have already booked the pavilion for next year. All of the guys working at the park have been super to us. The Pavilion was spotlessly clean and they went out of their way to accommodate the campers. Thanks Nehi, Mickey, and Kevin.
We had 30 R.V.’s at the park and several were first timers with our group. I hope they will all be back next time. From what most of them were saying, they will. Friday night there was a "pot luck" supper and after supper there was card and domino games - Ike even found some "42" players.
This wraps up the reunions for 2005, but don't worry we will be starting again in 2006!!!
