The Houston Police Retired Officers Association has adopted a beautifully designed brass Memorial Plaque to be presented to the surviving spouse of HPROA members. The plaque is suitable for mounting, framing, or attaching to the deceased member's headstone.

The Memorial Plaque is now being presented to survivors of each HPROA member upon his or her demise.

A surviving spouse of a member who deceased prior to October 10, 2002 may also obtain this Memorial Plaque for the nominal fee of $35.00. A postage fee of approximately $5.00 is added if the plaque must be shipped.

A Memorial Plaque presentation to a surviving spouse is usually made during the funeral service by an officer of the Houston Police Retired Officers Association or other designated person. The presentation is coordinated through the HPROA Family Assistance Committee. The committee members are:
