Worried About Your Defined Contribution Plan?

·        HPOPS is well diversified although we will suffer through this just like everyone else.

·        Pension Benefits are safe and will continue to be paid.

·        HPOPS is a very cohesive unit and has had experience dealing with down markets before.

·        Pension value is currently 2.5 Billion which is the same as last month.

·        HPOPS is preparing for the 2009 Texas Legislative Session in order to protect our pensions.

·        Mayor White wants to get away from the current way pensions are funded and move to a 401k, or similar type, where employees manage their own pension accounts.

·        Mayor White also wants to change the Pension Board structure so the City has control of the boards, funds and benefits.[More]
