Family Assistance Update

Donald I. Baker:(2-27-17 nf) We visited
with Don's wife, Janet, by phone and she reports that Don is in hospice care
with vital signs failing. Janet said that he had been in bed since Nov. 23 and
his physicians have said his time is short. Please pray for Don and his
(2-26-17rh) We received
information from one our Hill Country members that Jerry Liles had a stroke on
February 17th and is in Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, 1139 E. Sonterra Blvd., in
San Antonio. He will be transferred to a rehab hospital when he is
stabilized where it is anticipated he undergo a long rehabilitation. His left
side of his body is paralyzed. Please keep Jerry and his family in your
:(2-25-17 nf) We visited this evening with Chuck at his home where he
is in hospice care. Chuck has congestive heart failure with failing liver and
kidneys. He has fluid buildup around the lungs and is on oxygen support. His
doctor has given him about 6 months to live. Please keep Chuck in your daily
Ernest Leal:(2-18-17 nf) Dee Leal
reports that Ernest was moved to Health South at 13031 Wortham Center Dr, FM
1960 at Hwy 90 area yesterday for a period of rehab. A good sign things are
getting better. Pray for Ernest.
nf) We visited with Chuck by phone on 2-16-17 and he is in a better frame of
mind since getting out of rehab and back home in Ingram where Dot can give him
lots of TLC. He is recovering nicely without the pain. Lift up prayers for
Harold Hanna:(2-18-17 nf) We have received reliable
reports that Harold is at home after a rigorous course of chemo and most recent
tests reveal he is now cancer free. We rejoice with Harold and wife "Duke" and
continue to pray for their well being.
Al Blair:(1-18-17 nf) We just
talked to Al by phone and he said he was doing well and his doctor is pleased
with his steady improvement . Is using a walker and sometimes relies on a cane
as an assist. Keep Al in your daily prayers.
Nick Nichols reports that Earnest is still at North Cypress hospital but breathing machine was removed last night & he is breathing on his own. Dee states that he is somewhat better. Keep Earnest in your prayers. (1-24-17 nf) Husband of
member Dee Leal was admitted to North Cypress hospital, Hwy 290 &
Huffmeister, about a week ago with bronchitis and his health has turned downward
since that time. He is currently in ICU #18 running a high grade fever which
doctors cannot determine the source. Earnest is on life support as a precaution.

Charles "Chuck" Smith:(1-24-17
nf) Dot called to report that Chuck underwent hip replacement surgery at Nix
Hospital in San Antonio early Monday morning and was in recovery by 9AM. Surgeon
advised that the surgery was successful and that recovery should be normal. Dot
reported Monday evening that he was still somewhat sedated but had eaten a small
amount of sherbet. Continue to pray that Chuck recovery goes well. (1-19-17 nf) Chuck called to report that he would
be entering Nix Medical Center hospital, 414 Navarro, 210-271-1800, on Sunday,
1-22-17 to prep for surgery on his right hip Monday morning, 1-23-16. He will be
in hospital for 2-3 days and then move to a rehab center for a couple of weeks.
Dot will update after surgery. Chuck is diabetic and this will be difficult
surgery so lift up your prayers for him.
Al Blair:(1-1-17) We visited with Al
this morning by phone.. He is a patient at Cornerstone Hospital 5314,Dashwood in
Bellaire, 713-295-5300. He has been there for 2 weeks and reports that he is
recovering and rehabbing from the amputation of his big toe on his left foot. He
is mobile and improving. He is also making funeral arrangements for his 91 year
old sister who passed away this week. Give Al a call, he needs a lift right now
and keep him in your daily prayers.
Don Weaver:(12-31-2016 - 1-1-17 nf) We
visited with Dorothy today and she reports that Don was in a near death state
last weekend at N.W. Memorial hospital, Ella & N. Loop but he moved to Park
Manor Woodlands, 1014 Windsor Lake Blvd, 936-273-9424 and his health is
improved. They have removed all IV's, cancelled some meds. He still is on some
oxygen, has a feeding tube and a port in the neck/shoulder area for meds. He is
responsive, talks with a low voice and recognizes family & friends. Go by
and visit Don if you are near and keep him in your daily prayers.
