Bonnie Montero HPROA member Bonnie Montero passed away this morning, September 8, 2017, at her home in Magnolia, September 8, 2017, at the age of 86. She is survived by her husband Retired Sergeant James E. Montero, last assigned to the Homicide Division, retiring on February 17, 1989; daughter Retired Sergeant Michele “Shelly” Scheibe, last assigned to the Homicide Division and husband Retired Lieutenant Gary A. Scheibe, last assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Division; daughter Retired Sergeant Janice Raney Hawk, last assigned to the Vice Division and husband Retired Senior Police Officer James “JD” Hawk, last assigned to the Office of the Chief of Police; granddaughter Police Officer Elizabeth Scheibe Woodall, assigned to the Central Division and husband Police Officer Jonathan Woodall, assigned to the Central Division. Officer Montero joined the Houston Police Department on November 1, 1953. During her career with the Department, she was assigned to the Crime Prevention Division, Juvenile Division, Office of Technology Services, Crime Analysis Division, Personnel Division, Vice Division, Community Services Division, and Homicide Division. Officer Montero retired on March 30, 1989.
