 DAVID R. SMITH, 66 of Houston, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2003. David retired in 2001 after 23 years of service with the Houston Police Department. He was a member of the Metropolitan Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Linda McGilberry Smith, sons David L. Smith and wife, Merritt and Gary T. Smith and wife Dara, brother-in-law James McGilberry and Helga, <logo id = "543"/>grandchildren Zachary, Paige, Cody and Jordyn, niece Laurie Gonzalez and great niece Christie Gonzalez. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Foundry United Methodist Church, 8350 Jones Road, Houston, Texas with Brother Randy Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Northwest Harris County Division, P.O.
