EARL LANGHORNE, 73, passed away January 15, 2001.  He was a native Houstonian, born on May 5, 1927 to Fredrick and Stella Liccion.  
     He servied his country in WWII while in the Navy. He was a 20 year veteran of the Houston Police Department graduating with Academy Class 2.  He retired from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice with over 17 years of service as Recreation & Education Director.
     He graduated from St. Thomas High School and held a Bachelor's degree from the University of Houston.
     Earl had a great love of baseball, playing professionally for the minor league teams, Houston Buffs and San Diego Padres.  He was a co-founder of the Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association.
     Earl is survived by his wife Darolyn Langhorne; children, Fred Langhorne and wife Cindi, Cindi, Suzanne Langhorne, Helen Adams and Husband David, John Kent Langhorne and wife Lisa; stepchildren, Mike Souther and wife Susan and Randy Souther; grandchildren, Fred Earl Langhorne, III, Jenne Hawkes and husband Steve, Jana Langhorne, Lance Langhorne, Jenna Langhorne, Reau Langhorne; great grandchildren, Amena and Hunter Hawkes.
     Visitation will be Thursday, January 18th at Earthman Southwest Chapel, 12555 South Kirkwood, Stafford, Texas, 6-8:30pm.
     Funeral service will be Friday, January 19, 2001, 11:00am at Wouthwest Cahpel.
     Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery,
