Police Officer Thomas Joseph Yanchak, born September 29, 1956 in Houston, Texas passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2002 in Spring, Texas at the age of forty five.
Officer Yanchak, a nineteen year veteran of the Houston Police Department, entered Police Academy Class #112 on April 4, 1983, and was currently assigned to the HPD North Division.
He also served as a Sgt. with the United States Marine Corps.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Tammy Yanchak; daughter, Kelli Yanchak; mother, Carol Yanchak; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Jimmy Machacek; sister -in-law Linda and Jerry Herrera; sister, Glenda and Reggie Parrot, Judy Follett, Sue and Joe Mattern; brothers and sisters -in-law, Will James and Ross Yanchak, Dennis and June Yanchak. Numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of wonderful friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 1, 2002 in the Chapel of Forest Park - The Woodlands Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Funeral Mass: 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2002 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, 7801 Bay Branch Drive, The Woodlands, Texas with Rev. Monsignor George Sheltz officiating.
Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park-The Woodlands Cemetery.
