IRA W. HOLMES, 76 of Magnolia, passed away Friday, September 21, 2001.
Mr. Holmes retired in 1987 after 38 years with the Houston Police Department, Retired Detective.
He entered the Police Academy Class No. 2, November 16, 1948. At the time of retirement he was assigned to the Major Offenders Division.
Ira served with the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of Cade Rothwell Masocin Loadge #1151.
He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of 51 years Joyce; daughter, Jeannie Holmes; son and daughter-in-law, James Holmes, Sr.. and Veronica; grandchildren; sisters, Arrene Brocken and husband Joe, Wanda Parrish; and numberous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will beheld at 11:00am Monday, September 24th in the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home, Champion, with Reverend Eddie Skinner officiating.
Interment will follow at Perry Cemetery with rites accorded by the Houston Police Department and the Masonic Lodge.
