JOYCE HOLMES, 72, of Magnolia passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ira W. Holmes. Joyce retired after numerous years as an operating room nurse at Tomball Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Jeannie L. Holmes; son and daughter-in-law, James W., Sr. and Veronica Holmes; sisters, Maxine Patterson, Helen Horton, husband, Max, Frances Tindell, husband, Shaw; brother, Norman Giles, wife, Darla; grandchildren, Wendell Holmes, Wendee Coon, Melissa Lowder, Jamie Shelley, James Holmes, Jr., Dana Holmes; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Wanda Parrish, Arrene Brocken, husband, Joe, Jean Hartman, Ruby Holmes and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18th in the Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home, Champions with Rev. Eddie Skinner, officiating. Interment will follow at Perry Cemetery.
