DRUG BUST IN 1966?
Wednesday, November 29, 2017
I am writing some stories that are loosely based on my father, E.J. Stutts, who was one of the original eight narcotics agents in Texas. I am searching for information about drug busts in Texas from the mid-50s to mid-60's. For example, I heard about a large drug bust at the Houston Ship Channel in 1966, but have not been able to find details about this event.

If you have any information that I could review, that would be wonderful!

59 Ford
Friday, June 9, 2017
Hello All,

We're still looking for a '59 Ford  OR..... a '56, '57, '58 or
'59 to make a "clone" Dayton Police car for the Dayton Police and Fire
Museum that we're working on with the city. Please forward to anyone who you
know that might have a lead on such a car.
Needless to say we would like for the car to have good glass and chrome and
a body that is not a "rust basket" but something that we could work with to
make a "clone" Dayton Police Unit. Our Committee does not have a lot of
money to spend on this project so somethng within our price range would be
workable.

On behalf of the Dayton Police & Fire Museum Committee, I thank you for
anything you may be able to do to help. We hope to have such a car to move
into the museum which will be the soon to be vacated Dayton Police Station
when they move into their new facility on Hwy. 321 in Dayton by the end of
June.

Sincerely,
Ken DeFoor

Officer Involved
Thursday, February 16, 2017
I'm Patrick W. Shaver and I'm the director of the upcoming documentary 'Officer Involved.' This is a documentary that explores what the police officer experiences after he or she goes through a shooting. A police officer myself, my wife and I filmed the movie over more than two years by meeting with officers and experts across the country. I'm reaching out because we are going to be in Houston on 2/24 for a screening of our film that will be hosted by SpindleTap Brewery at 6:30pm. It is the Houston-area premiere of Officer Involved and we'd love if you were to share the information with HPROA members. I'm providing some links to some of our news articles as well as a flyer.

Thanks for your time!

Take Care. Be Safe -

I was researching about the Waco sergeant who was killed in 1976 and the killer being up for parole.

Every three years. That is what the widow has to face with parole hearings. Doing it again. Like ripping the scab off a wound each time.

At any rate, here is a good article from 2014 (last parole time) that gives a bit more explanation of the situation. If the guy was 80 years old, who cares if he is paroled. He is only 63.

All:

It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that retired EAC Kirk Munden quietly passed away last night. Kirk was surrounded by his loving family and close friends when he was called home.

Those of us that knew Kirk knew him as a great cop, leader, husband, father and friend.Sadly, he was taken from us way too soon and will be truly missed. Recently, Kirk personally gave me the greatest gift by agreeing to come back to Houston PD and serve as Chief of Staff for 24 months to help with our transition. That's the kind of man he was, he cared deeply for HPD and the people of Houston so much that he was willing to come back and serve again.

Although I and all of you will miss Kirk, his passing has strengthened my resolve to do my best to serve you and the people of Houston in a manner worthy of Kirk's approval.

I urge everyone to keep Kirk, his family, friends and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers. I also urge you all to continue to serve in a manner that honors Kirk and our long history of excellence. Lastly, his passing is a reminder of how delicate and fleeting life is, so please take a moment to love and appreciate the many blessings life brings us.

Our Family Assistance Unit will be coordinating memorial services with the Munden family with details to follow.

As always, be safe and do not hesitate to call me if I can be of service.

With Heavy Heart,

ArtAcevedo
